Seth's 9 Months

1. Seth is 9 months! :)

2. He weighs 21 pounds, 10 1/2 ounces, and is 28 1/2 inches tall.

3. This puts him in the 82nd percentile for weight and the 58th percentile for height.

4. I thought Seth was taking a little longer to scoot around and move around and I realized it was probably cuz he didn't get enough opportunity on the ground and didn't need to. We held him a lot and kids came to him to entertain him. I started putting him down a lot on the ground to play and we tried "helping" him figure it out like pushing on his legs. For the longest time he would just raise himself as high as he could on his arms and plop down on his chest. He could wiggle himself backwards and would get frustrated when he couldn't get where he wanted. Once he figured it out though, which was probably a week from turning 9 months, he was army crawling so fast and getting everywhere. :)

5. I'm having a hard time sleep training Seth. He naps really well and initially falls asleep in his crib. He's not dependent on nursing at the beginning, but seems to have a problem with it later in the night. I've tried letting him cry it out, but either I've gone soft or he doesn't give up. Lately, I don't have to feed him, but just hold him and he'll calm down and sleep in my arms. As soon as I lay him back down though, he's up crying ten minutes later... It's been rough. I'm just hoping, eventually, he'll get it if I just keep trying.

6. Seth likes most of his baby food. It took him a while to be able to handle the more solid type food without gagging on them, but he's pretty good with them now. He seemed to like most of the fruits and vegetables I've given him, even though he'd make a disgusted face whenever he tried something new. I feel like he's definitely weaning himself from me, at least during the day time. :p

7. I do catch Seth sucking his thumb occasionally. It's not a full-on suck though, like it doesn't soothe him like I kinda wish it would. Like most babies, he puts everything in his mouth, which I didn't have to worry about as much with my other two, but now those other two make messes and have little toys that they tend to leave out and we have to be on constant vigilant.

8. I love seeing the different relationships developing between Seth and Claire and Seth and Everett. Claire is very sweet and motherly and helps make him happy when he's sad. He definitely loves her and smiles when she's around. With Everett, he's often laughing. Once Everett discovered he could make Seth laugh, they've developed a more playful relationship. Seth follows Everett with his eyes everywhere and smiles or laughs when he comes close to him. It's pretty cute.

9. Seth can be pretty loud sometimes. He was always screaming and squealing before. He's starting to really talk and make more of a variety of sounds with his mouth now. He also likes to make this moaning sound at times. Usually when we're driving in the car he does it. It's a drawn out moan which is kinda funny. He also tends to do it in his sleep. Usually right before he falls asleep or when he's waking up. I hear it and I've gone into his room to get him only to find him still closing his eyes and sleeping.

10. I can see many similarities between Seth and Everett, not only looks wise, but also personality wise. He's definitely his own little person though. He's growing and changing constantly and it's fun to see the differences. He brings so much joy into our home.
