Roughnecks Roar!
We started a new adventure with Claire. This spring she played on a "real" soccer team. She got to play in actual games this time and as parents we got to sit on the sidelines and cheer her on. Her team was called the Roughnecks and she had a blast. She said once, she "loves soccer" and she "wants to marry soccer". Not sure where she got that expression, but she obviously enjoys playing. You could see the joy on her face. Kindergarten soccer isn't very serious or competitive at all, which is just the way I like it, but it was really interesting to me seeing kids of all extremes. For some, it was obvious they had played before with parents and took it more seriously, but some kids would goof off and dance on the field, or in Claire's case, skip around the field. :) They didn't play with goalies or really keep score at all and they all received a medal for participating. It was just plain fun for everyone. We really enjoyed watching her. :)
