McClellan Campout

My sister April and her husband planned a family campout at the end of June. Most everyone was able to come so it was our big family reunion of the year. We weren't sure whether we would be able to make it until a couple days before, and we were only able to stay one night, but one night camping for me at this point in my pregnancy was enough. :) We had a lot of fun though. The kids enjoyed playing with their cousins, especially collecting flowers and rocks for their "stores". They love playing pretend...

One of my nieces put together a show for the adults that evening. It was very cute. Here are just a couple snippets from the evening. We had yummy s'mores around the campfire afterwards.

After a long night of not sleeping the greatest... (we always seem to misjudge how cold it gets at night when camping), the next day we went to a pond close by and went canoeing. I've kind of become a scaredy-cat in my old age, or maybe it's just cuz I was pregnant, but the thought of falling in that water kind of freaked me out. We all got in the canoe though and went around the pond for a little bit. Everett seemed to really like it and wanted to go around again after a short break. Claire was happy to sit on the sidelines and watch.

It was fun, but hot and kids got grumpy fast so we didn't stay much longer. We drove back to the campground, played a little bit more, packed up and headed home. It was a short trip, but it was so fun seeing all my family that was there. We missed those who weren't able to make it.
