Gender Reveal

The most exciting appointment during a pregnancy for me is most definitely the ultrasound. My sister Lia was available to come watch the boys for us while Scott and I headed to the appointment. This fourth baby was a little difficult to look at it's face cuz it was smooshed up against my side, the technician was literally pushing on the head trying to get it to move but it wouldn't move, stubborn baby. :) Anyway, I feel like we didn't get the greatest ultrasound photos this time, but we found out what mattered most. We have a healthy growing boy. :)

Claire requested the cupcake gender reveal this time so we obliged and the next day I made a bunch of cupcakes with blue frosting inside. Claire and Everett had said they both wanted a sister but when they found out it was a boy they were both just as happy. Everett made the comment that "Heavenly Father must really like giving us boys". :) We are so happy and excited to have another little boy join our family.

Dance Festival

Every school year Claire gets to perform with the other kids in her grade at the school dance festival. Since she was in the Dual Immersion program they had two dance festivals, one focusing more on the Spanish culture. It was so fun to see her enjoying herself dancing with her classmates. :)

Hansel and Gretel

So at the beginning of the year, we signed Claire up for the school play, Hansel and Gretel. Once or twice a week, she would stay after school for a couple hours for practices. She put in a lot of work and really enjoyed herself. We loved getting to go watch her perform the songs and dances she had learned.

Soccer Season

We enjoyed watching Claire and Everett play soccer this spring season! :)

It was Everett's first time playing actual games and it was so fun watching these little kids get excited and run after the ball sometimes the wrong way). His team was called the Batteries. Everett loved staying back and watching the goal but his favorite part of soccer was the snacks. :)

This season, Claire started playing on a larger field and her team set up practices once a week as well to help them learn and get better, so that was fun. Her team was called the Stars. Claire was still a little timid when it came to going for the ball, but when it came to her she was great at passing it along to her teammates. :)

Easter

We had a fun Easter morning. Since church doesn't start until 1pm, we had plenty of time to open Easter baskets and get ready in our Sunday best. :)

We decided to announce our pregnancy to our friends on Facebook with pictures, an idea I came across on Pinterest. So we went out in our Easter best clothes and took these photos to tell everyone.

For Family Home Evening the next day, we dyed eggs and then hid our plastic ones in the yard and looked for them over and over again. It's one of the kids' favorite activities. :)

Four

We found out I was pregnant on February 1st. It's been the earliest that I tested positive and I started feeling icky nausea from day one. We told our parents pretty much right away. We told the rest of my family only a few weeks later at a family get together and found out two of my sisters were also expecting and further along that I was. :p I had a lot of sickness the first trimester, I think I have a pretty weak immune system while pregnant so I caught a lot of bugs.

So it's always a special moment and a huge relief going to that first doctor's appointment and seeing or hearing that heartbeat for the first time. They told us the due date would be Oct. 8th. We're so excited for this fourth child. :)

18 Month facts for Seth

1. Little ones change so much the first couple years, I love remembering how they are at these different stages. So this blog is all about Seth now that he's 18 months old.

2. Seth is 25.8 pounds and is in the 72nd percentile for weight.

3. He is 32 and a half inches tall and in the 53rd percentile for height.

4. He's got 8 teeth, four on top and four on bottom.

5. Seth doesn't say very many words yet. He can say "no" pretty well. :) And he may say "mama" occasionally, but we're still not certain he knows what he's saying. He says "ba" for a few things like ball, bottle, and banana. He understands a lot, most everything we say to him, but he doesn't seem to be interested in talking much yet.

6. Scott got a calling as a nursery leader, so about a month before Seth turned 18 months, he was able to go to nursery early with him. He's been having fun playing with the toys and having daddy with him.

7. Seth is very active. He's climbing, crawling, walking, running, anything to get around. He also loves playing with balls and has a pretty decent arm. He can throw a ball pretty far for a toddler. :) I think he stresses me a little more than the other kids did with his attempts to climb things and his curiosity. He's the first kid I've had to call Poison Control for.

8. I'm still working on the sleep training thing with Seth. I've gotten lazy though, and he always ends up sleeping with us in our bed.

9. Seth loves hats. He loves to put things on his head, including bowls, tupperware, boxes, helmets, and anything he finds that fits. He's always getting into the lower kitchen cabinets and pulling out bowls and tupperware to play with. I'm constantly having to remember to rewash things before using them just in case Seth has gotten to it first. :)

10. Seth gives the absolute best hugs ever. He wraps his arms around our necks and gives us the cutest hugs that just make us melt. He's a very cuddly little toddler and we love him so much. Claire and Everett love trying to teach him new things and find so much joy in everything new he learns to do. :)
